Why Do We Get Nervous?

Nervousness is a constant and undeviating factor in competition.  Even the best athletes still get nervous.  But why do our bodies respond to high stress situations in ways that seem to make us more stressed?

As you can see, nervousness is an important response that actually helps us cope with stressful situations, by increasing our heart rate, blood flow, and vision.  So the next time you feel nervous, remind yourself that it’s just your body enhancing your physical abilities to help you to succeed!
